Urgent Lawn Care Austin sits in an odd spot from the start: it's categorized as a pest control service, carries a lawn-care name, and several of its reviews explicitly describe experiences with TruGreen — which suggests either a franchise relationship or a confused listing. Whatever the explanation, the numbers are rough. The business holds a 2.3-star average across just nine Google reviews, and it currently fails most of CertifiedLocal's automated checks: no website, fewer than ten reviews, no service options listed, and an hours schedule that reads "open 24 hours" six days a week — a claim that's hard to take at face value for a lawn service and leaves a gap on Sundays that breaks the complete-profile requirement. The complaints outnumber the praise five to three (one five-star review has no text at all), and they're specific. One customer says a technician entered through a locked gate, sprayed areas explicitly excluded from the service — including their garden and their dog — and had to be told repeatedly to leave. Another describes yellow striping appearing across a treated lawn and weeks of unanswered calls trying to get anyone from the local office to come look. A third says an overapplied treatment killed healthy grass, resolved only by a refund. A prepaid annual contract holder reports worsening weeds, lost trees, and a surprise $600 non-refundable charge for what they were told were re-visits. Even a milder complaint — a $41 fee just to get a consultation — points the same direction: once something goes wrong, customers struggle to reach a decision-maker. To the profile's credit, it is claimed, lists a phone number, has recent reviews, and the owner responds to most feedback, which satisfies the response-rate check. But read those responses and the credit thins out. Every reply, including to the trespassing and dead-lawn complaints, is an interchangeable pleasantry — "we appreciate your perspective," "feedback like yours helps us grow" — with no apology, no offer to make contact, no acknowledgment of what actually happened. Technically responsive, substantively empty. It's hard to construct a profile of who this business serves well. The three positive reviews mention easy scheduling and a friendly, communicative technician, so routine recurring treatments evidently go fine for some customers. The pattern to watch is what happens when they don't: damaged lawns, chemicals applied outside the agreed scope, and a customer service wall between you and anyone local. If you're considering them anyway, get the service scope in writing, be on-site during visits, avoid prepaying for a full contract, and clarify upfront whether you're actually dealing with a local operation or a national brand's routing number. Most readers will be better served getting quotes elsewhere first.

I had to chase him out. He sprayed my dog! Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Guaranteed the guy picked my lock trying to scope out my yard for potential future criminal acts, my gate was LOCKED and the account specifically stated only service outside the gate. Then his excuse was "im from san antonio, bro" IN WHAT UNIVERSE DOES BEING FROM SAN ANTONIO GIVE YOU A RIGHT TO PICK LOCKED GATES, TRESSPASS, SPRAY FLOWERS, AND SPRAY DOGS?"
Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We are always striving to provide a better experience.

All I get is the customer service department that says they will send my message to the local office. I have been call since 6/13. I asked to actually speak to someone and was told they could not transfer me to a supervisor. I am highly dissatisfied in their lack of customer service. My yard now has yellow stripes that are getting worse in my opinion and what actually look like rows of some green then some yellow. I know my lawn did not look like this....ever. I am now going to have to take a sample to a local place to get an actual diagnosis. The pictures below are the front yard (which they did not service the last time) vs the back that they did service. I tried to upload pictures but their site keeps telling me I need higher resolution...ugh"

Owner's reply: Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your perspective and are committed to doing better.

Lavaris was my technician this time and he did an excellent job, was very friendly and polite. He let me know everything he would do today and the impact it should have. #TRUSTTRUGREEN"
Owner's reply: We’re honored to receive your kind words. Thank you for helping us grow with your encouragement.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your comment. We value all customer input and will review this internally with our team.
View original on Google ↗„I paid for a service contract up front for lawn and shrub care. During the year the weeds have never disappeared infact they are worse, and I lost over 8 trees to disease. The service is not thorough. Even after calling customer service to enquire how many treatments I had left I still got charged an extra $600 dollars which is non refundable for visits that they stated were re visits for the poor service. Do not waste your money"
Owner's reply: We hear you, and we appreciate your honest feedback. We are constantly working on improving our customer experience.
