Real Green Pest and Lawn Care serves the Austin area with lawn treatment and pest-control services. Its 4.7-star Google rating across 1,553 reviews is strong and supported by substantial review volume, although it falls just short of CertifiedLocal’s 4.8 rating benchmark. The profile passes several basic legitimacy checks: the business has a website, claimed profile, listed phone number, current reviews, and at least one service option. Recent positive feedback centers on the technicians. Customers describe them as prompt, professional, knowledgeable, respectful, and willing to explain their work. One longtime customer also highlighted a small but meaningful sign of care: technicians consistently remember to relock the property’s gate after completing service. Real Green responds to the reviews shown here, and its automated certification check confirms a response rate of at least 30%, with no unanswered one- or two-star review from the past 90 days. The strongest caution comes from a recent lawn-care complaint. That customer said weeds initially died as expected, but the grass later deteriorated into large areas of bare dirt, leaving an estimated $1,200 in repair costs. Real Green sent a field manager and service director after the customer called, but the customer felt the company had not monitored the lawn proactively, accepted responsibility, apologized, or offered a restoration plan. The company attributed the damage to inadequate watering caused by an open sprinkler bubbler during extreme heat, pointing out that better-watered sections were healthier. The competing explanations cannot be resolved from one review, but the exchange shows that customers should monitor lawn conditions closely and raise concerns early. A separate four-star review also expressed uncertainty about whether treatment was working and what seasonal service was being applied. The profile’s automated checks contain an apparent inconsistency: they mark both the 50-hour threshold and complete seven-day hours as unmet, even though the supplied schedule lists every day and totals well over 50 hours. Photo coverage has not yet been checked. Real Green looks best suited to customers who value experienced field technicians and an established provider with extensive feedback. For lawn treatments, confirm the treatment plan, watering requirements, expected timeline, and responsibility for damage in advance, then document changes rather than waiting several months to request an inspection.

„I started using Real Green back in February/March because my house backs up to a greenbelt, and I was hoping their services would help control the weeds growing in my backyard. This was my first time hiring a company to treat my lawn, so I trusted their expertise. Within the first month, all the weeds had died, which initially felt like a good sign. However, about 8 weeks later, I noticed my grass was dying, and much of my yard was left as bare dirt. I figured this might be part of the treatment process and gave it more time, but another 8 weeks passed, and my lawn only continued to get worse. Especially considering how much rain Austin received this year and the fact that I was still watering my yard 1–2 times a week, I was confused as to why my entire lawn was dying. Throughout this time, no one from Real Green reached out to check on the condition of my yard or address the issue. Eventually, I called and requested that someone come out to assess the damage. One of the managers who visited was genuinely shocked by the condition of my lawn and even commented, "I've never seen grass this bad." He then arranged for the Director of Services to come out and take a look. After inspecting the yard, the director identified an issue with one of my sprinkler bubblers that wasn't functioning properly. While I understand that this could have contributed to the problem, I find it hard to believe that one faulty bubbler alone explains why my entire lawn was essentially fried. What bothered me most throughout this experience was the lack of accountability and customer service. There was no genuine apology, no acknowledgment of the damage, and no proposed solution to help restore my lawn. The response essentially came down to the sprinkler being faulty, and that was that. I put my trust in this company to care for my yard, and now I'm left with over $1,200 in repairs to get my lawn back to where it was before. My grass was green and healthy before I started using Real Green, and even with a partially faulty sprinkler, I can't help but feel that my lawn would have been in much better condition had I not used their services. I wish I had done more research and found a company I felt I could genuinely trust. My advice to anyone considering Real Green is to do your research, closely monitor the condition of your lawn, and stay on top of the company throughout the process. Unfortunately, based on my experience, they won't necessarily do that for you."

Owner's reply: Shirin, thank you for taking time out of your day to provide feedback, as well as meeting with our Director of Service. Our partnership with a customer consists of us providing all necessary treatments to promote healthy grass, and in return, we only ask that you keep up with the watering and mowing. We do leave detailed notes letting customers know what we did, and our recommendations for both watering and mowing, which change with the seasons. We first heard of your concerns on August 10th, long after any relevant rainfall in the Austin area. We promptly came out two days later, and you spoke with one of our Field Managers. He was confident this was moisture related, but put in a follow-up for our Director of Service to take a look. At that time, we determined you had a bubbler that was wide open, causing a complete lack of pressure to the zone responsible for watering the damaged area in your back lawn. Upon closing that bubbler, your zone pressured up and began watering these areas. Unfortunately, the damage from lack of moisture had already occurred, so it was recommended that you resod. It was a brutal summer this year with around 50 days in excess of 100 degrees. Your grass is living plant life and unfortunately can’t survive without moisture. We can conclude that’s what happened in your back lawn as your front and side lawns are doing much better than that particular zone that wasn’t’ being watered. We do wish you the best.
