Chem-free Organic Pest & Lawn Services is an Austin pest control company with the kind of numbers that are hard to argue with: 4.9 stars across 870 Google reviews, which clears CertifiedLocal's 4.8 threshold with plenty of volume behind it. The business is open six days a week from a US-290 location, runs its own website, and has claimed and actively maintained its profile. It does not, however, pass every automated certification check — more on that below. The clearest pattern in the reviews is longevity. One customer has been with them for seven years, another for decades across multiple homes, and both make the same point: the quality holds steady no matter which technician shows up. That's worth more than any single glowing visit, because it suggests the company's training and hiring are doing the work rather than one or two star employees. The decades-long customer specifically notes that newer, younger technicians have come aboard without any drop in knowledge or people skills. Several reviewers name their technicians — Jonathan, Louis — and describe them answering questions patiently, checking proactively for lingering insects, and covering details without being asked. The company replies to reviews often enough to meet the 30% response-rate bar and has no unanswered low-star outliers in the last 90 days, though the replies themselves are terse one-liners, one with a typo. The caveats sit mostly on the profile side. The automated check flags three gaps: no service options are listed on the profile, the hours don't satisfy the full-week criteria (Sunday is closed and Saturday runs only 8 AM to 1 PM), and the weekly-hours threshold is marked unmet. The photo check hasn't run yet. None of this speaks to service quality, but it does mean a prospective customer can't see from the profile what's actually offered — pest-only, lawn treatment, one-time versus recurring — and has to call or visit the website to find out. The other honest limitation is in the review sample itself: the recent reviews available here are uniformly five stars and short on specifics about pricing, scheduling friction, or how the company handles a treatment that doesn't work. With 870 reviews there are almost certainly critical ones, but they aren't represented in this data, so we can't characterize them. For homeowners who want recurring pest service from a stable company with consistent, well-trained technicians — and who prefer the low-toxicity approach the name promises — this looks like a safe choice, and the repeat customers measured in years and decades back that up. Just don't expect the Google profile to tell you much about services or pricing before you call, and plan around the limited Saturday window and Sunday closure if weekends are your only option.

„I have used Chem Free services for 7 years. I have left reviews before because over all these years and not matter how many people come to provide my services, I ALWAYS get the same consistency in the quality and friendliness from everyone. I highly recommend!!"

Owner's reply: Thanks, Karen!
View original on Google ↗„Been a customer for decades, at more than one home. They've earned my loyalty and know how to keep it. If I have a chance, I try to talk to their technicians, especially the ones I've gotten acquainted with over the years. They're always pleasant and answer all my questions. New comment June 2023: In recent years I've seen a younger generation of technicians coming on board, with excellent training and knowledge. It's important to feel confident in continuing good service as the people I've known for so long reach retirement. I have no worries. New comment October 2026: New techs continue to show up from time to time. As was true today, their quality of knowledge and people skills is never less than great. Chem-free hires good people, and we their customers get the benefit of that."
Owner's reply: We apprecaite your long-time loyalty and continued business, Mark!
